Ruth Mary Daniels

As an artist my work often focuses on landscape and place, I am interested in the stories and myths that bind people to places. Working primarily with lens-based media; my works often manifest as photographic or moving image pieces.
Within my recent practice I have explored my relationship to the landscape of the Cairngorms and dreams of the imagined cowboy who travelled with me from Wyoming to the Caledonian pine of Scotland; while other projects have explored the sense of safety that myself and others experience within natural landscapes.


Education:

-Batchelor of Arts in Fine Art, Photography with Honours - The Glasgow School of Art (2020-2023).
-UAL Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design - Newcastle Collage (2019-2020).
